Configuring DWL-900+ as a Repeater

1) Install Repeater

Begin by selecting a location to install the repeater. It should be located within the range of you access point. Once you have found a location, plug the power cord into the back of the DWL-900+ and plug it up.

2) Connect to the Repeater

The method in which you connect to the repeater depends on the wireless card you are using. Choose the wireless card below to continue with installation.
  • D-Link DWL-650+
  • D-Link DWL-120
  • D-Link DWL-520+
  • 3) Configure the Repeater

Open your web browser and type http://192.168.0.50 in the address bar.

    Press Enter.

Type admin in the "User Name" field and then click OK.

Once the DWL-900AP+ configuration screen loads, click the tab labeled Advanced.

Click the button labeled Site Survey.

A new window will launch showing you a list of the access points in your area. Copy down the BSS of your access point, leave out the dashes.

    Click Exit.

Click on the radio button labeled Repeater.

Enter the BSS number that you copied down earlier into the Remote AP MAC field.

    Click Apply.

Once the DWL-900+ restarts it will be in repeater mode. The signal of your wireless network should then be extended. If you are trying to cover a large home with a wireless network, more repeaters may possibly be needed.
